PIONEER AVIATION LAUNCH MICROLIGHT VERSION OF P200
A‘REAL’ AEROPLANE EXPERIENCE IN A MICROLIGHT!
Pioneer Aviation’s new microlight version of the P200 made its debut appearance at the Popham International Microlight event. (August 2/3rd 2008)
Based on Italian Alpi Aviations popular P200 2 place, low wing, fixed tricycle undercarriage design, of which over 200 are already flying in Europe, the P200 Microlight has been developed to meet LAA microlight standard by Pioneer’s Managing Director Frank Cavaciuti.
The P200 Microlight is of quality wooden construction with fabric covering and is powered by the proven Rotax 912 engine. The aircraft is claimed to have excellent all round visibility, good aerodynamic characteristics and excellent performance and handling. It cruises at 115 mph on a fuel burn of 14.7 litres an hour offering a range of 350nm on a full tank (54 Litres). Short field performance is an excellent 100 metres take off and landing run.
Pioneer’s Frank Cavaciuti said after the show, “ We were delighted with the response to P200 Microlight both from pilots and Microlight flying school operators and we are confident several firm orders will result from its initial appearance. Initially the aircraft will be available in advanced kit form for self-build (under the 51% rule) at around £37,000 including VAT but we are actively pursuing the necessary approvals to supply the aircraft ready to fly.”
The new Pioneer 200 Microlight represents a breakthrough in quality and value in the UK microlight market offering.
